Highlights

Foster Grannies at Sparta School are "Going Green".  Chapter members in Ashe and Alleghany recently completed a service project where they used worn sweater to create beautiful "recycled" scarves.  The scarves were presented to the foster grannies at each school just in time for the first snow of the season.

Chapter members recently enjoyed a presentation on the "Wind For Schools" Project.  Alleghany County Schools was one of the first school systems in the state to receive a new windmill through grant funding.  Teachers will analyze data collected from the windmill to support instruction.  Many chapter members helped make this dream a reality.

Chapter members continue to sponsor children through the Dolly Parton Imagination Station.  Children in both counties ages birth - five receive a develomentally appropriate book in the mail each month.  This literacy project has become a valued aspect of early education in both counties.
